Price concerns. Some reviewers found the drinks a bit expensive, noting the "price seemed a little high but oh well"4, and one found it "ridiculous" to be charged extra for whipping cream, though still saying the "hot chocolate was tasty"6. Despite this, overall sentiment remains favorable, with one calling the coffee "so good"7 and another praising "good food, drinks, and pastry"8.
Excellent coffee and baked goods! A bit on the pricey side, but if you can grab a cronut before they sell out, it’s definitely worth it. Service can be hit or miss, especially at the coffee bar.

Definitely the best place in town for breakfast or brunch. The hot drinks are amazing and the quality of the pastries are great. The menu is a bit pricey, but it matches the location. I recommend Alforno 100%.

Finished up walking across the Peace Bridge, and this was the perfect spot to order a hot drink and get away from the crazy wind 🌬️🍃 & rain 🌧️. Got that London Fog 🌫️ piping hot ☕!
We ordered three cakes that were pretty good but not fantastic. However, the tiramisu hot chocolate was delicious, even being a bit overpriced. London fog was also pretty good.

“Definitely do not recommend if you have a gluten allergy! There was only one gf option for baked goods and no bread substitutes for their sandwiches (which is a little understandable considering they're a bakery) I ordered their lunch special…” — excerpt
“I brought my family for breakfast from another province during the weekend, and I had one of the worst experiences ever when given a menu of such low quality when having a restaurant as fine dining under the brand TEATRO…” — excerpt
“I’ve been recommended this place by a few friends. The location is definitely winning but overall it’s just a nice little cafe. The pastries choice wasn’t the best but coffee ☕️ was good. Nice and friendly stuff.”
“Pros: good location, open on weekends, variety of food choices, patio/dine-in options, host was friendly and welcoming. Cons: pricey, slow services (we were there for late brunch), our server was “distracted”/“snobby” - had to get his attention to order and…” — excerpt
“The coffee is very tasty, there is a large selection of pastries, I ordered tiramisu (I didn't really like it), but the raspberry tart was delicious!”
“Very clean place, lots of options, the pizzas are great, well cooked and tasty. Flat white is delicious and the cake options are massive. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in one stop here and of course deserts.”
“Situated near Peace Bridge, this quaint Cafe offers not only fancy coffee and artisan pastries but also tasty lunch! For a snack, I'd recommend the cronut or a scone. For lunch, I'd recommend their bucatini carbonara or the steak sirloin…” — excerpt
Most reviewers describe Alforno as a cozy, attractive café with good natural light and a popular patio, great for brunch, coffee, and baked goods, especially eggs Benedict, croissants, tiramisu, and lattes. Staff are frequently praised as friendly and attentive, with several named individually for excellent service, though a handful of visitors report rude or slow service and long waits. Food is usually called fresh and tasty, but some mention inconsistency, blandness, stale pastries, or recipe changes compared to before, along with isolated complaints about foreign objects in food and damaged takeout orders. Pricing is often called a bit high for portion sizes. Noise levels get frequent mention, as the space can be loud and crowded, especially during busy mornings and weekends.
