> Purple Yum draws strong praise for its cakes, especially the ube and ube macapuno varieties, along with mango, mocha, chocolate, and red velvet, consistently described as moist, flavorful, and pleasantly not too sweet. Custom and occasion cakes, including weddings and birthdays, are frequently singled out as beautifully designed and accommodating even on short notice. Filipino pastries like sylvanas, pandesal, ensaymada, and Spanish bread also get repeated recommendations. Staff are described as friendly, helpful, and generous with samples, and the Ranchlands location is called a neighborhood gem, though parking can be tricky. A smaller number of reviews mention disappointments: dry cake, bland custard, a frozen rather than fresh cake, an ill-fitting box, and occasional complaints about high prices for certain items.
