Mention hub

Ten example pages, one per kind of business

A mention hub is a page on the customer’s own subdomain that collects what third parties have written about them — reviews, press, community threads — sorted by what people actually talk about. One is shown in full below; the other nine are a click away.

What these are

Every business below is invented, and so is every quote, rating and topic. They exist to show the layout and the topic derivation working, and they are not customers, case studies or results.

A hub page, in full: Aurora Med Spa

96 mentions from Google, Yelp, RealSelf, press and a community thread, grouped into 6 topics that came out of the mentions themselves.

Loading the page…

The top of a real hub page, loaded live. Open it to scroll the whole thing — the topic breakdown, the disclosure under the quotes, and the most-criticised block.
Open this pageIt opens on shonoai.com because there is no customer domain to serve it from yet. On a real hub this page is the root of review.theirdomain.com, and the only link back to us is the “Page by Shono” line in its footer.

What the same page does differently for each of them

Three things vary per business, and everything else is identical.

The topics

Derived from each business’s own mentions, in the words reviewers used. A topic appears once five different people have raised it, and at most ten are shown. A dentist surfaces dental anxiety and insurance billing; a med spa surfaces comfort during treatment.

The brand

Six CSS variables: colour, the readable text colour derived from it, a tint, the ink that sits on it, their typeface and their corner radius. Text colour is darkened until it clears the 4.5:1 contrast minimum, so a pale brand cannot make a page unreadable.

What the owner can change

Which mentions are featured in the quote stream — and nothing else. The rating, every count, every sentiment split and which topics exist are computed from all mentions, including the critical ones, and the most-criticised topic has its own block that cannot be removed.

Where it fits

What a page like this can and can’t do

It helps an assistant describe a business accurately, and confirm it once it is already a candidate. It does not by itself make a business a candidate — that still runs through Google Business Profile, the directories and review volume. It is a supporting lever, and we would rather tell you that now than have you discover it later.
